We have noticed that some of the files in both groups (pair and shear) have exactly the same data for temperature and wind direction. For example pair340.txt and pair379.txt, have exactly the same data for temperature and wind direction. Is it possible that some of the data for temperature and wind direction on one side (same in both files) and wind speed on the other (similar in both files) are mismatched by accident?

Dear Sir,
This is interesting, in that is shows that its hard to test software for all contingencies – a run time bug on my part. In fact, you are correct. There was a small set of data that was “reused” unintentionally. The good news is that the set was small relative to the full data set, and, if you identify it correctly, won’t hurt your score.
